District 7 – This meet was held at Lake Highland Prep in Orlando, FL on Wednesday, April 14th, 2010.  A major shout out goes to Lake Highland Prep coach, Casey McGinn.  Casey, a former Pole Vault City vaulter, has done a fantastic job with all the vaulters, especially the girls, at that school. Well done Casey.  If anyone is wondering why Lake Highland has so many girl vaulters it’s probably because coach McGinn is considered a hottie.

District 14 – This meet was held at Hallandale High School in Hallandale, FL on Wednesday, April 13th,2010.  Archbishop McCarthy was all over this one on the boys and girls side.  Anthony Amodio successfully began his quest to repeat as the 2A State Champion with a fantastic vault of 14’6″.  I have to admit I never thought I would see the day when a Hallandale pole vaulter would qualify out of this districtover the likes of Archbishop McCarthy and Cardinal Gibbons, but it happened and special congratulations to Antonio Duncan for seeing it through.  On the girls side, Jessica Cornelia led a strong contingent of girls where the minimum qualifying height was 9’6″.  We’ll have to keep our eye out for later results, but this may have been one of the toughest districts to qualify out of on the girls side.
