Amy Bauer was a 7 foot pole vaulter last year at Cocoa Beach High School. Her first meet, 2 weeks ago, she set a personal best of 8′. One week later, she set 3 more personal bests vaulting 8’6″, 9′, and 9’6″ all in the same meet, all of which were Cocoa Beach High School records. Amy also had a few good attempts at 10′. Stephanie “Cookie Dough” Cook set a personal best at a meet on Monday night by clearing 9′. Shelton McLean, son of Lake county legend, Jeff McLean, set a new personal best by a foot clearing 10’6″ in his first meet of the season. Hillary Albertson also started off with a bang setting a newpersonal best with a vault of 9’2″ which also set the Spruce Creek High School record. With a beginning like this, I can’t wait to see what the rest of the season looks like. Great Job Everyone. Keep vaulting high.
